Volunteering for AIM

AIM is deeply comitted to advancing the adoption of standards within the automatic data capture and mobility industry. As part of that commitment, AIM has established and promotes standards committees and work groups to define issues, provide guidance for standards definitions, and campaign for adoption of global standards.

All members of AIM are invited to participate in these initiatives by contacting the AIM office.

Standards Advisory Group

This group will provide guidance on whether AIM should assume active leadership or an observer role in various AIDC-related standards groups.  Technical experts and participants in the ISO, IEC, CEN, ANSI, and other standards bodies would be ideal candidates for this group.

RFID Experts Work Group

This member group will create a set of information tools related to questions about RFID and privacy.

Technical Symbology Committee (TSC)

The mission of this group is to serve as the technical authority for all issues related to bar code symbologies.  There are currently seven elected positions for this group, although meetings are open to anyone.

Education and Public Policy Committee

This group will focus on recommending actions for policy issues that ask for an official AIM position. This group will advise AIM on unique association public relations' opportunities and evaluate educational partnerships. This committee will assume the planning responsibilities for the AIM annual meeting. Members of this committee will include marketing and media representatives of member companies who are interested in assisting AIM evaluate public relations opportunities.
