Dr. Bennett is the director of the Electro-Optical Systems Laboratory, founder of the Logistics and Maintenance Applied Research Center (LandMARC) with the Georgia Tech Research Institute and a Professor in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology.
She received her PhD in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Tech for her work in coherence theory applications to optical imaging systems. She also holds a certificate in Management of Technology from Georgia Tech. She is a topical editor for Applied Optics, holds a Patent on Integrated Sensor Radio Frequency Identification (ISRFID) with Location, has numerous patents pending, a Copyright on a computer model for Wave Propagation through the atmosphere, is a reviewer for NIH, and was chosen for the University Leadership Program at Georgia Tech.
She is a member of numerous professional societies and a member of the AIM RFID Experts Group.

Chuck Biss

Biss has been involved in AIDC, bar code, image analysis and bar code verification for more than 30 years. He started in the AIDC industry when he joined PSC Inc. (formerly Photographic Sciences Corporation) in 1973 and since then his focus has been verification, as well as technical support / training and standards committee work. He was instrumental in the development of the Quick Check® verifier product line, which was developed in conjunction with Welch Allyn’s Data Collection Division and is now part of Hand Held Products (HHP Inc.), a Welch Allyn Affiliate.
Biss is a former Chairman of the X3A1 Technical Subcommittee on Optical Character Recognition (until it went into an inactive maintenance role in 2000) and was Chair of that committee's Work Group #3 during the development of the American National Standard X3.182-1995 [R] Bar Code Print Quality - Guideline. He also serves on (or has served on) various other industry standards committees for AIM Global (Standards Advisory Group, Technology Standards Executive Committee and Bar Code Technical Symbology Committee), AIAG (Automatic Identification Project Team committees relating to Bar Codes), ASTM (F05.03 Research Subcommittee), EIA (Bar Code Subcommittee), HIBCC (Bar Code Technical Committee), TCIF (Bar Coding committee), UCC (GSC, PTRG, QWG & other working committees), as well as the ANSI MH10.8 committee.
He is Vice Chair of ADC1 (U.S. TAG to JTC 1/SC 31) and serves as the Head of Delegation for the U.S. to SC31 general plenary meetings. He is presently Vice-Chair of ADC1’s Task Group 3 on Conformance and Convenor of SC31’s Work Group 3 on Conformance. He is a charter member of the AIDC 100, was the 2001 recipient of AIM Global’s Richard R. Dilling Award and is a member of the AIM Global Board of Directors.
Biss received his Bachelor's Degree in Photographic Science and Engineering from Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, NY.

Paul W. Chang

Chang is responsible for the development and execution of IBM’s sensors and actuators strategy for the life sciences industry, including that of RFID.
He has more than 17 years of experience in technology and business development in RF, biotech and optical network technologies. Most recently, Chang has led the RFID effort at IBM in the pharmaceutical and hospital industries, working with many global pharmaceutical and medical devices companies to implement an RFID strategy to drive business value as well as comply with regulatory mandates. He has also been actively involved with the FDA's anti-counterfeiting initiative since 2003, and has served as an advisor to the group as they learn more about the opportunity and limitations of RFID.
Chang earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Carnegie Mellon University in mechanical engineering.

Robert C. Cresanti

Leading the Technology Administration (TA), Cresanti oversees a policy analysis staff, and provides oversight to the National Institute of Standards and Technology and National Technical Information Service. The primary mission of the Technology Administration (TA) is to maximize the competitiveness and innovation of the U.S. technology industry and its contribution to America’s economic growth and global leadership.
The Under Secretary is involved in overseeing Departmental activities related to the development and implementation of federal privacy laws, policies and practices, and coordinates with the Department’s Chief Information Officer and other Departmental staff to ensure internal privacy, particularly the integrity of the Department’s information systems. Cresanti is the highest-ranking official to serve in this capacity in the federal government.
Before his confirmation, Cresanti served as Vice President of Public Policy at the Business Software Alliance. Prior to this, he was Senior Vice President and General Counsel for the Information Technology Association of America. Earlier in his career, he served as Staff Director for the Senate Special Committee on the Year 2000 Technology Problem. He was also Staff Director for the Subcommittee on Financial Services and Technology for the Senate Banking Committee. Mr. Cresanti received his B.A. degree from Austin College and his J.D. degree from Baylor University.

As chair of the RFID practice, Doug works with the firm's legal teams to provide clients with strategic business and government affairs advice related to RFID creation, development, procurement, use and application.
Previously, Doug served for five years as Senior Policy Advisor to House Majority Leader Dick Armey (R-TX). During this time he managed all legislative activity through the US House of Representatives in coordination with the Senate leadership and the White House Legislative Affairs office. He also created what became known as the e-Contract with High Tech America, which shaped how Congress reviews and legislates issues affecting the IT industry.

While in this role, he has established both Inside Sales and Territory Account organizations focused on channel partner support. Prior to this position Finch spent 18 months in a business development role focused on healthcare, specifically patient safety.

Craig K. Harmon

With over 25 years of proven experience in the information systems industry, Harmon is among the leading experts on RFID standardization in the world. He chairs the ISO committee addressing RFID applications in the supply chain.
He chairs AIM Global’s RFID Experts Group and the U.S. group developing the U.S. positions for ISO RFID standards. He serves as an officer in numerous ANSI, ISO and JTC 1 groups and the liaison to ITU and ETSI.
Harmon participates in the specification development of EPCglobal. He has written substantially on the topic of RFID, is the author of four books on data collection technology, including Reading Between The Lines and Lines of Communications, and is a keynote speaker at international RFID symposia. He provides the content for the web site “autoid.org.”

Tim Heffernan

Heffernan leads the Government Relations and Public Affairs practice at Symbol and is the chair of the RFID workgroup at the Information Technology Industry Council. In his role at Symbol he is responsible for the design and implementation of initiatives to support Symbol in establishing and maintaining relationships with domestic and international government officials, lobbying groups, press and standards bodies. He also serves as Symbol’s privacy expert.
Heffernan holds numerous academic awards in the areas of Political Science, cited as an expert on persuasion by the Harvard Management Communication Letter and was the first civilian student representative at the U.S. Naval War College.

Fraser Jennings

In his role at Savi, Jennings is responsible for ensuring regulatory and standards compliance, as well as identifying and executing plans for developing emerging standards in the RFID market, including ISO and EPC global activities. He is also responsible for working with regulatory bodies to help influence modifications to established regulations for RFID technology.
Jennings has been involved in many aspects of RFID from standards setting to regulatory to product development and project management, and has been heavily involved in ANSI, ISO and EPCglobal. He held a number of increasingly responsible management positions since joining Savi Technology in 1995. Prior to his current position, he was Savi’s Vice President of Hardware Product Management, Deputy General Manager for Government Operations and Program Manager for the company’s contract with the U.S. Department of Defense.
Jennings held the rank of Lieutenant Colonel (USAF) after serving 24 years in a number of capacities for the military, including Acquisition (Program Management, Contracting), Education and Training and Missile Operations. Jennings earned a degree in Business Administration from the University of La Verne and an MBA from the University of South Dakota.

His AIDC background includes on-demand printing technologies, PSA label and tag converting, bar code, EAS and RFID. Kessler’s career includes work in R&D and Engineering with papers, release liners, specialty inks and open cell polymer formulation used in fluid metering applications. He has been awarded eight patents related to on-demand printing and label converting technologies. He holds a BS from Syracuse University.
Kessler represents Paxar in several industry standards organizations supporting the use of bar code and RFID technology for the AIDC industry. Industry organization participation includes AIM Global’s REG and TSC, the GS1’s GSC and EPCglobal, ANSI INCITS and the US TAG to ISO/IEC JCT1/SC31, TAPPI and the Imaging Science and Technology organizations.

Elliot E. Maxwell

From 1998 until 2001, Maxwell served as Special Advisor for the Digital Economy to U.S. Secretary of Commerce William Daley and U. S. Secretary of Commerce Norm Mineta. In this position he was the principal advisor to the Secretary on the Internet and E-commerce. He coordinated the Commerce Department's efforts to establish a legal framework for electronic commerce, ensure privacy, protect intellectual property, increase Internet security, encourage broadband deployment, expand Internet participation, and analyze the impact of electronic commerce on all aspects of the economy. He was deeply involved in the development of E-government activities and was a founding member of the Federal Interagency Working Group on Electronic Commerce.

Dan Mullen

Since September 2003, Mullen has served as President of AIM Global, the trade association for Automatic Identification and Mobility. As an industry advocate, he strives to present a balanced view of the technologies -- including their strengths and limitations. He has appeared on CNN and been interviewed by many local, national, and international media outlets, including BusinessWeek and Fortune, addressing bar code, radio frequency identification (RFID) and many other AIM technology topics. Prior to this leadership position Mullen, as VP Operations, managed all marketing, finance, and membership development aspects of the Association.
Mullen serves as Chairman of AIM ADC1, the U.S. Technical Advisory Group for ISO/IEC SC31, and the international standards committee for Automatic Identification and Data Capture. Under his guidance, AIM symbology standards have moved from industry documents to internationally accepted specifications.
A graduate of the University of Notre Dame with a degree in electrical engineering, Mullen has also earned an MBA from Duquesne University.

Mark Nelson

Mr. Nelson serves on the Board of Directors of the International Cargo Security Council and is Chairman of the Education and Public Policy Committee of AIM Global, the industry association representing providers and end-users of automatic identification and mobility technologies. He graduated from Lewis and Clark College with a bachelor of science degree in English literature.

Mark Pettigrew

Pettigrew serves as the IT Project Manager for Huhtamaki Americas, Inc. which is part of Huhtamaki Oyj, a global packaging company headquartered in Espoo, Finland. In that role, he leads the IT Project Management Organization (PMO) that supports eleven manufacturing sites and five 3PL distribution centers that supply Huhtamaki’s customers in North America. The PMO also supplies limited support for Huhtamaki sites in Brazil and Mexico.
Pettigrew has over twenty years of management experience in manufacturing/distribution and nine years of experience working with Auto-ID applications. He has participated in or led five ERP implementations and seven Auto-ID deployments, two of which are currently in progress.
He earned a Bachelor of Science from Texas A&M University, served in the United States Marine Corps for nine years and is a graduate of Naval Flight School as well as numerous other military training regimens. He is certified as a Six Sigma Black Belt by the University of Tennessee and a Project Management Professional (PMP) by the Project Management Institute (PMI). Siplon serves as the Executive Director of the Maritime Logistics Innovation Center (MLIC), a unique partnership of private industry, academia, federal and state authorities and the Georgia Ports Authority (GPA). This public private partnership is working together to both determine best practices as well as test innovative solutions for the safe, efficient and secure movement of freight.
Prior to joining MLIC, Siplon served a combined 12 years in the United States Marine Corps and the United States Air Force, providing circuit level maintenance on various ground-to-air and ground-to-ground communication systems and integrating encryption techniques and solutions for large-scale secure voice and data communication systems. He is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and its Computer Society, Coastal Business, Education & Technology Alliance (CBETA) (he serves as Vice-Chair of the Ambassador program). Siplon also serves on the board for Georgia FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology), a technology and education focused non-profit organization.

Tazelaar is a results-oriented professional with strong technical experience in the design and deployment of RFID and development of applications that fully utilize the benefits of this technology. While a programmer analyst at Wal-Mart, Tazelaar was responsible for installing and deploying RFID solutions at Wal-Mart retail stores, distribution centers, and Sam’s Clubs across the country.
Tazelaar has been a guest lecturer at Michigan State University’s School of Packaging, University of Arkansas Walton College of Business, and the International Association of Packaging Research Institute and has published several RFID articles in various industry publications.
Tazelaar received a Bachelor of Science in Packaging and Masters of Science in Packaging from Michigan State University and is a member of a number of industry trade groups.
