AIM, Inc., the global trade association recognized as the worldwide authority on automatic identification and data collection (AIDC) and networking in a mobile environment, today announced the newly elected members of the Technical Symbology Committee for 2002/3. The Technical Symbology Committee (TSC) of AIM) is chartered to create specifications for symbologies used by companies around the world and is one of the longest standing committees in AIM. The TSC members are nominated and elected by the members of AIM for their technical expertise in the world of bar code symbologies. The term of the membership is two years. The following people have been elected to the committee for the two year period commencing January 1, 2002. · Mr. Andy Longacre (Handheld Products), (member since 1982) · Mr. Frank Sharkey (UCC), · Mr. John Kessler (Paxar Corporation), · Mr. Yuji Tsujimoto (Denso Wave Inc.). Meetings of the TSC are open to anyone who wishes to attend, however, the bulk of the work in creating the various symbology specifications falls to the expert team of the TSC. The above four members join the 2001 - 2002 team members of: · Mr. Sprague Ackley (Intermec Corp.), · Mr. Clive Hohberger (Zebra Technologies Corp.), · Mr. Rick Schuessler (Symbol Technologies) The TSC meets four to six times a year, in various locations around the world typically for two days at each meeting.
