PITTSBURGH, September 16, 2003 – AIM, Inc., the global trade association recognized as the worldwide authority on automatic identification and data capture (AIDC) and networking in a mobile environment and SCAN: The Data Capture Report, the premier management and marketing newsletter of automatic data capture since 1977, has honored Larry Graham with the Don Percival Award. Larry Graham has over twenty-five years of industry experience applying automatic identification, data collection, and computer technologies with more than 850 installations in eight industries. As Global Manager of Automatic Identification Technology and Distributive Computing at General Motors Corporation, his responsibilities include the Automatic Identification Center for Excellence for GM business sectors, process engineering information officers, and global commonization. He is an active participant in a number of internal and external standards organizations including ISO SC31 TAG, AIM, ANSI MH10, Joint AIAG/Odette/JAMA-JAPIA Common Global Template, AIAG, and has worked with VICS and Uniform Code Council standards committees. Within GM, Mr. Graham serves on the Corporate Label Committee, VIN Standard Committee, and Vehicle Security Forum. Mr. Graham is credited as the originator of the bar code "wedge" and holds a BS degree in Industrial Marketing and an MBA in General Management. The award was established to honor Don Percival, an early founder and pioneer in the development of bar code scanning. Since 1982, this award has been presented to an individual or organization from the user community in recognition of outstanding contributions to the application of AIDC technologies. Mr. Graham joins an impressive list of both individuals and organizations that have previously won this award.
