AIM, Inc. announced today the departure of Larry Roberts from his position as Chief Executive Officer. At this juncture, the Board of Directors would like to examine the strategic direction of the Association and how best to serve the needs of its members and has decided that a change in leadership can assist AIM in moving forward. As of 1 March 2002, and coinciding with the expiration of Mr. Roberts employment contract at AIM, the Board of Directors will begin an executive search and Mr. Roberts will no longer be employed by the association. During the upcoming months the Board of Directors will be examining qualified candidates and choose a Chief Executive for the association. During this period Dan Mullen, VP Operations for AIM, Inc., will assume the role of interim CEO for the organization. During the past 8 years Larry W. Roberts has served AIM USA and AIM, Inc. as Chief Executive Officer. Over this time Mr. Roberts has worked diligently to guide these organizations to become stronger and more complete representatives of the Automatic Identification and Data Capture industry. Furthermore, Mr. Roberts helped the organization transition into the international association it is today.
