Even as RFID gains increasing global acceptance, national regulatory bodies still establish local regulations on the acceptable frequencies, bandwidth, power levels, duty cycles and other key elements of RFID systems.  AIM now offers a database of the regulations for 104 countries.

AIM's RFID Regulatory database lists the following key elements: primary user, availability of RFID within frequencies, maximum output, maximum antenna gain, maximum EIRP, duty cycle, bandwidth, channel spacing, licensing, other restrictions, future plans, and primary and alternate contacts.

There is a one-time subscription fee for access to the database.  Current plans are to issue updates every six months and to add additional national regulations as they become available.

This is an invaluable asset to companies planning to implement RFID internationally.  For more information on the database and subscription, contact Diana Bowser at the AIM Global Headquarters. [email: Diana@aimglobal.org]
