AIM NA Fortifies Efforts with Introduction of AIT Alliance
New Name Designed to Provide Enhanced Opportunities
Cranberry Township, PA – April 1, 2014 -- AIM North America (AIM NA), the Association for Automatic Identification and Mobility in North America intends to take on an expanded role in automatic identification and data capture (AIDC) industry advocacy within government and regulatory organizations with the introduction of the AIT Alliance. The Alliance will focus on all aspects of automatic identification technology (AIT), allowing its efforts to reach a broader audience within government, Congressional and corporate organizations.
Bob Fudge, Vice President for Federal Programs at Evanhoe & Associates of Dayton, OH will lead the AIT Alliance. Previously, he served as the Chair of AIM NA’s UID Supplier’s Alliance (USA), which was primarily aligned with agencies and legislative efforts tied to fostering improved adoption and implementation of the Department of Defense Item Unique Identification (IUID) initiative.
“The AIT Alliance creation represents a significant step in providing the automatic identification technology industry with a better refined, yet truly comprehensive, scope in working to promote a broader thinking about the adoption of AIDC technologies, technical innovation and, most importantly, appropriate policy, procedural and cultural change efforts through all sectors of our government,” said Greg Reddick, Lt Col, USAF (Ret.) and President of Potomac Redan Associates, LLC, a member of the Alliance.
Stan Skocki, Partner of Washington, D.C. based The Normandy Group, which represents the AIT Alliance before Congress and the federal government, added, “In today’s world, it’s imperative to have the ability to navigate within a multitude of diverse, yet connected, government and Congressional entities on important policy matters related to supply chain management. The AIT Alliance is perfectly poised to do that and its efforts will help demonstrate that not only the AIDC industry, but the American taxpayers alike, will benefit from AIDC technologies and the adoption and implementation of related governmental policies, which stimulate effectiveness and efficiency.”
Following the formal launch of the AIT Alliance this month, the group has plans underway for delegations representing Alliance members to visit with key legislative members in Washington, D.C. and states where Alliance companies impact business. Organizations interested in joining the effort are encouraged to contact the AIM North America office by email or call +1.724.742.4473 for more details.
