The RAIN alliance is a global industry association with its goal to accelerate market adoption of UHF RFID. The alliance currently has 117 members, including companies such as Amazon, Google, Intel, Avery, Smartrac and NXP. The three day meeting featured workgroup sessions as well as presentations by international industry leaders. Workshops were conducted in which members worked on concrete topics such as a Tag-Reader compatibility matrix and Marketing Communication topics in order to drive forward the awareness and adoption of UHF in the market. Open sessions on Thursday afternoon and Friday morning featured speakers from SMATRAC, Google, Teslonix, RR Donnelley, Levi Straus, MEPS Real-Time, Motorola Mobility and the US Department of Defense. These meetings included a theme of "bridging the gap between RAIN and IoT”.
