Liaison Relationships


AIM understands the importance of creating and maintaining relationships within the automatic identification and data capture industry.  Through these relationships, AIM and its members strengthen their value within the global marketplace and are better positioned to promote the adoption of current technologies along with future innovation in automatic identification and data capture.

As a liaison to standards groups throughout the world, AIM serves as a resource to support these groups in achieving their goals, in addition to advocating the effective use of AIDC best practices.

CEN/TC 225 |European Committee for Standardization - AIDC Technologies


Standardization of data carriers for automatic identification and data capture, of the data element architecture therefore, of the necessary test specifications and of technical features for the harmonization of cross-sector applications. Establishment of an appropriate system of registration authorities, and of means to ensure the necessary maintenance of standards.

Standardization in the field of Chain of Custody (CoC), including terminology, principles, requirements for and control systems used by supply chain actors with regards to the management of products in terms of their specified characteristics. The work is intended to be applicable to all products, whereas services are excluded. The objective of the committee is to define a generic CoC process framework, which serves a wide range of sectors, raw materials and end products, and covers specific product characteristics, to enhance the transparency, process efficiency and comparability of CoC models.
