Identifiers

Identifiers are a foundational element of automatic identification and data capture. They provide the structure that allows products, assets, locations, and other items to be uniquely recognized and connected to meaningful data. Without clear and consistent identifiers, accurate tracking, traceability, and interoperability become much more difficult to achieve.

In this AIDC Fundamentals session, Chris Brown of TSC explains the role identifiers play in building effective AIDC systems. The session helps viewers understand why identifier structure matters and how it supports data integrity across barcode, RFID, and other data capture applications.
